MMA Vet Jonathan Ivey is back at it again as he will be hosting Cage Fighting Championships (CFC) 7. This event is taking place on October 12th in Murfreesboro Tennessee. We will see a stacked card including 4 CFC title fights.
FightBook MMA had the opportunity to sit down and talk to James Musumeci. He’s an undefeated welterweight who is looking to climb up the rankings in the CFC and possibly soon be in contention for the CFC welterweight title which is currently vacant. On October 12th Musumeci enters the cage to take on James Hairston. Check out the conversation he had with FightBookMMA below.
James it’s great to get to talk with you just days before weigh ins. How is your weigh cut going and how do you feel?
Thanks for taking the time to talk to me about this! My weight cut is already done and we are ready for war baby!!!
October 12th you enter the cage to face a fighter who is also undefeated at welterweight just like yourself. What do you know about your opponent James Hairston?
To be honest I don’t know much about him. I know he’s talking smack and that’s fine. I’m not the type to talk trash through a keyboard. I respect him and his team. Ima let my hands do the talking Saturday night.
The CFC welterweight title is currently vacant with the departure of former champion Donavan Salvato. Have you had a chance to look at the CFC welterweight rankings and do you plan on making a run at the title?
For that championship belt, If they want me for it why not? I don’t chase championships, I’m here to give the crowd what they want.
First things first, this Saturday night you face James Hairston. How do you see the fight playing out?
I see it like any other fight. I’ve never been more pumped to step in there and go against somebody like him. My cardio and conditioning is at its highest. I see this ending fast. There will be blood and he’s not ready for a war.
James is there anyone you would like to thank or give a shout out to? Best of luck to you October 12th James we’ll be paying close attention to the result of the fight.
I’d like to thank Renzo Gracie Brazilian jiu jitsu Clarksville. THE WHOLE TEAM. They prepared me for everything. Coach James Coach Ed Coach Diego. Professor dom and professor Gary. Both of my grandmothers who are sick. One has breast cancer and I’m dedicating this fight to her. She’s the toughest women I know.
