Grant Dawson says UFC 246 fight vs. Chas Skelly has been canceled

Grant Dawson vs. Chas Skelly has been canceled.

The featherweight matchup was supposed to take place Saturday at UFC 246, but it’s no longer happening.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Dawson (14-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) announced the cancellation. No reason was given.

“I’m heartbroken to report I won’t be fighting this weekend at UFC 246 due to circumstances out of my control,” Dawson said. “I’d like to apologize to everyone who was looking forward to this fight. We are working with the UFC to get my bout rescheduled as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience during this time, and I hope to have fight news very soon.”

Skelly has yet to comment publicly on the cancellation.

UFC 246 takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on ESPN+ pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
